Get the sustainable running shoe collaboration between Adidas and Allbirds before they’re gone.
In an excellent example of two sustainable fashion brands coming together, the Adizero x Allbirds 2.94 kg CO2e is “a personal best for both brands” that gets carbon emissions below 3 kg CO2e per pair.
The shoes utilize bio-based EVA foam, an exceptionally lightweight outsole made from 10% recycled rubber. The uppers are constructed 77% recycled polyester and 23% natural lyocell while the lining, laces and embroidery rely on 100% recycled polyester.
Allbirds and adidas introduced other innovations, including a “nutrition list” on the tongue of the shoe that calls out the carbon footprint of the shoes throughout its lifecycle, and the tangram design method that creates as little scrap as possible in assembly.
The collaboration is meant to demonstrate that the company can produce these shoes at scale, rather than in limited quantities, and at an accessible price point.
How much do adidas x Allbirds sneakers cost?
At $120, the Adizero x Allbirds 2.94 kg CO2e sneakers aren’t super-expensive and they’re going fast.
The sustainable sneakers are available in four new colorways: Core Black/ Bliss, Cloud White/ Carbon, Core Black/ Acid Red and Allbirds’ exclusive multi-hued colorway. The shoes are colored without dye utilizing a process that utilizes each material’s natural color and minimize water consumption.
Other colors are available as of this writing, so strike fast before they’re gone.
